Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a commercial litigator partner, to help further develop our very successful and friendly commercial litigation team in Holborn, central London.
What makes this role different is that you will be supporting the commercial and insolvency litigation teams to service our existing SME clients and to expand and develop a new client base in this area. You will have the full support of the partners and colleagues in other departments.
Background
Our team advises high net worth individuals and corporates embroiled in contractual disputes.
The commercial litigation team has expanded over the last 18 months and accordingly we are looking for a bright and keen individual to help develop the department during our next phase of growth.
Summit Law has long-established relationships with a range of intermediaries, referrers, and repeat clients. Our team advises high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and SME’s. Traditionally Summit Law has been renowned for its restructuring and insolvency law know-how and now wishes to expand its commercial litigation and insolvency team.
Summit Law is conveniently placed to offer a fast and efficient service to a home grown and international client base. We have connections in the Middle and Far East, Spain, and South America which we are keen to develop.
One of our partners also sits as a board member of ILAS, the International Lawyers and Accountancy Solutions network who meet twice yearly in Europe to discuss growing trends and developments in the legal and accountancy sectors.
Operating in modern offices in Holborn, close to the Rolls Buildings and Inns of Court, Summit Law is conveniently placed to offer a fast and efficient service to a home grown and international client base. We have connections in the middle and far east, Spain, and South America which we are keen to develop.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have gained experience in an established Central London or regional practice. Candidates must be technically excellent but equally important, they must be both commercially astute and enthusiastic about business development. They should have a following in excess of £150,000.
We are very much looking for team players with a strong client focussed approach. As well as being able to use cloud based document management and time recording systems the successful candidate will also have a good academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills. Whilst we also rate common sense highly, we need a lawyer who is hands-on and interested in being involved in the management of the litigation department.
The successful partner candidate will be expected to have a broad commercial litigation experience, with an emphasis on arbitration, breach of contract claims and shareholder disputes. Some probate litigation experience would also be useful though is not essential.
